Jurgen Klopp earned his first win as Germany manager at the third attempt as they beat Serbia in the Nations League.
Klopp's side had drawn with the Netherlands and then lost to Greece but a new-look team triumphed in Munich.
Tom Bischof smashed in Germany's opener after Florian Wirtz had hit the post.
Liverpool's Wirtz, who was impressive throughout, scored the second after a fantastic first touch in the box to give him space.
The 23-year-old has struggled to live up to his potential at Anfield since he joined in a £116m deal in June 2025.
He has scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in 55 games for the Reds.
"He was bursting with joy and worked incredibly hard," said Klopp.
"That was exceptional; he played a fantastic game. Our style of play suits Flo Wirtz. I don't even know what Flo has to do right to make everyone happy. Everyone in Liverpool should be happy today."
Klopp had named a 44-man squad for the four games the four-time World Cup winners will play in this internationals focused period, with most players changing over following the last match.
Celtic midfielder Mika Baur became the 1,000th player to play for the Germany men's national team when he came on as a substitute.
When asked how he will celebrate his first win, Klopp replied: "I have no idea. I've never won a game as national team coach. As a club coach, I'd know. Do we have any beer on the bus? There won't be any celebrating, though. We're all tired and need to recover."
