Manchester Super Giants bowler Liam Dawson, speaking to BBC Two after hitting the winning runs: "A little bit nervous, the pressure was on but I knew we were just one hit away so I was really pleased I could do that.

"That's what finals do, you're always under pressure. There's no easy final. They put us under pressure at the back end but we managed to get over the line and it's a great feeling.

"Great tournament and just happy to win it."

  3. 'We struggled with the ball' - losing captain Billingspublished at 21:24 BST 16 August

Trent Rockets captain Sam Billings, whose personal run of three consecutive titles comes to an end, believes it was a match lost with the ball.

"I thought we had enough runs actually," he said.

"It was a shame. We struggled with new ball and Tim Seifert played a fantastic knock.

"We just missed our lengths slightly and all of a sudden it got away from us.

"It was a competitive total. I thought it was enough runs. The performance was not quite there. Fair play to Manchester Super Giants."

And stand-in captain Jos Buttler - remember Aiden Markram had to head home to south Africa part-way through the tournament - lifts the trophy high above his head.

    A lovely moment for him.

This is Manchester Super Giants first Hundred title - men's or women's.

  6. 'Ice-in-the-veins Dawson'published at 21:16 BST 16 August

Manchester Super Giants bowler Sonny Baker, speaking to BBC Two: "Unbelievable and so good for Daws [Liam Dawson] to get us over the line.

"He bowled the last two sets in our semi as well so really happy. Ice-in-the-veins Dawson - so good!"

On his own form: "Our seamers complement each other really well. All three of us can get north of 90mph - to have three guys who can do it is really exciting.

"My role has been more in the middle and at the death because those boys have been so good in the powerplay."

Manchester Super Giants captain Jos Buttler, speaking to BBC Two: "Delighted. Obviously a special occasion here.

"I probably would have been able to enjoy it a bit more if we'd finished off the last five balls a bit easier but a great effort from absolutely everyone. So, so proud.

"Getting over the line is sometimes the hardest bit. But so many fantastic performances today. Tim Seifert, the way he played broke the back of the chase.

"We were very much in control until the last bit."

On preparations: "The auction and the planning are the most important bits. Getting a balanced team. Tom Moody is an expert at it. He won it at the Oval three times and has come here and done the same."

Manchester Super Giants win means, of course, there is no men's-women's double for Trent Rockets.

They do walk away with the 2026 women's trophy and the Hundred Helix - the new trophy given to the best franchise combined across the men's and women's competition.

  9. 'We knew it was going to be a scrap'published at 21:12 BST 16 August

Manchester Super Giants coach Justin Langer, speaking to BBC Two: "It's a great win. We knew it was going to be a scrap against these guys, they've got great characters, great experience.

"So it's nice to be here on a Sunday night at Lord's as champions."

On the seamers: "The thing I respect about them is they have got a Test match in a few days time and yet they prepared really well and have given everything.

"They get a couple of days then they'll go out and play Test cricket for England. Josh Tongue is an unbelievable bowler and Gus Atkinson, what a competitor. Sonny Baker, of course, he was so good tonight.

    "They've been great."

On Tim Seifert: "I said after the last game that it was the best duck I've ever seen in my life because we'd spoke about taking the game on at the start, he did that but got caught. Best duck I've seen in my life and a great innings tonight as well."

Manchester Super Giants bowler Gus Atkinson, speaking to BBC Two: "It feels great. It was getting a bit closer than I would have liked at the end but it was great to get over the line.

"I haven't played much in The Hundred the last couple of years so to come here, play every game and contribute has been great.

"I've really enjoyed it with a new team this year and to win again is great. I was a bit nervous, I put my pads on thinking I wouldn't be needed but then a few of wickets made it a bit closer - but Liam Dawson got us over the line!"
