Jamaica Kingsmen join Caribbean Premier League published at 20:20 BST 31 March
Image source, Getty ImagesJamaica Kingsmen will become the seventh team in the Caribbean Premier League from the 2026 season.
The USA-based ownership group recently set up Hyderabad Kingsmen, who have joined the Pakistan Super League season for the 2026 campaign.
Pete Russell, the chief executive of the CPL, said Jamaica was a "powerhouse in Caribbean cricket" and that the new team was a "bold step forward in building on that legacy".
Fawad Sarwar, owner of the Jamaica Kingsmen, added: "Jamaica has a rich cricketing heritage and passionate fans, and we are committed to building a team that reflects that pride and competes at the highest level."
The franchise will be based in Kingston and will play at Sabina Park.
A Jamaica-based side - Jamaica Tallawahs - were last in the CPL in 2023.
