  1. Lack of Brits & dressing room choirpublished at 03:36 BST 13 September

    Garcia v Benn

We're just one fight away from the main event and I’d say the 20,000-capacity T-Mobile Arena is around two-thirds full - maybe more.

It will be interesting to see how close we get to a sell-out by the time Conor Benn and Ryan Garcia make their ring walks.

There have not been many obvious signs of travelling British support, though. No sea of Union Jacks and when Benn appeared on the big screen a few moments ago, he was met with huge jeers.

Garcia, meanwhile, has a worship choir singing for him in his dressing room.

Safe to say Ryan Garcia and Haney aren't the best of friends.

  4. A wise move to join Zuffa Boxing?published at 03:31 BST 13 September

    Garcia v Benn

But despite turning his back on Eddie Hearn and Matchroom, you can't deny that Zuffa Boxing isn't getting Conor Benn the opportunities he craves.

His first fight was on the undercard of Tyson Fury's return to the ring in April and now he's fighting for his first world title against Ryan Garcia.

    A wise move?

  5. Benn swaps Matchroom for Zuffa Boxingpublished at 03:29 BST 13 September

    Garcia v Benn

All of that Conor Benn, Zuffa Boxing and Eddie Hearn drama was great, wasn't it?

Benn opted to sign for Zuffa Boxing in April despite being with Matchroom since turning pro.

Hearn, who learned of Benn's decision via email from the Briton's lawyer, said he made a "mistake" in trusting Benn.

"I got an email from Conor's lawyer and that was the first dagger in the heart," Hearn told the 5 Live Boxing with Steve Bunce podcast.

"I blame myself a little bit in the sense that I didn't push him to sign a new contract."

He added: "I literally died on a hill for him."

    Opetaia v Mikaelian

No real fireworks in the opening three rounds here but Opetaia is looking comfortable.

He did take a nasty head to the eye in the opening round, causing a decent bit of swelling but the corner have done a good job on it.

Mikaelian gets a ticking off for landing one after the bell there.

  7. 'Fair play to the kid for getting into this position'published at 03:26 BST 13 September

    Garcia v Benn

    Carl Frampton
    Retired world champion on DAZN

It is a big step up [for Conor Benn], but he's been in these situations before, especially the Eubank fights. I mean the world was watching. They were huge fights in the UK, stadium fights and there was so much media attention around that.

This is a little bit different, obviously, there's a world title on the line. A WBC belt, which his dad won, so there's a bit of meaning for him. It's an important fight for him, and fair play to the kid for getting into this position and fighting someone like Ryan Garcia.

  8. Garcia dismisses Benn's abilitypublished at 03:25 BST 13 September

    Garcia v Benn

Ryan Garcia has been vocal all week about Conor Benn being undeserving of a shot at his title and here's what he told BBC Sport in Las Vegas.

"He's an average fighter, he's athletic and it's his last name. It's not a shot at him; it's just the bitter truth.

"I'm preparing like he's the best fighter in the world. It's all about preparation and how sharp you are.

"People could say you're overlooking him. No, I'm calling it how I see it.

"Do you want me to say he's as good as Floyd Mayweather? He's not.

"He's alright. He comes forward and throws looping overhands. He's aggressive and will make him a rugged fight, but it's not something I haven't seen before."

I can't look past a Ryan Garcia knockout. I think this is a huge step up for Conor - I hope I'm wrong - but you can't compare this fight to his ones with Chris Eubank Jr. This is a gigantic step up in class.

    Prediction - Garcia

  12. A defining night for Bennpublished at 03:18 BST 13 September

    Garcia v Benn

    Kal Sajad

Good evening/morning from the city that never sleeps.

Well, I'm looking forward to this one.

Conor Benn has spent much of his career trying to prove people wrong. Tonight he gets the biggest opportunity yet - the chance to emulate father Nigel and become a world champion.

Ryan Garcia has the greater pedigree and Benn goes in as a sizeable underdog. On paper, you would expect the champion’s speed, power and experience at elite level to be too much.

Whatever happens, this feels like a defining night for Benn. By the end of it, we should know a lot more about just how good he really is.

    Opetaia v Mikaelian

Despite being stripped of his IBF cruiserweight title, Jai Opetaia was pretty diplomatic when asked about it in the build-up to this fight.

He said: "Being the best cruiserweight in the world and being undisputed are two different things.

"I'd like to carry all the belts and undisputed. It's unfortunately these things happen. I'm not kicking and screaming, this is the path we chose."

  16. What titles are up for grabs?published at 03:11 BST 13 September

    Opetaia v Mikaelian

On the line tonight in the co-main event is the Ring belt and Jai Opetaia's Zuffa cruiserweight title.

Noel Mikaelian is the reigning WBC cruiserweight champion, but he is expected to be stripped of the title as a result of facing Opetaia instead of a proposed fight against WBA and WBO champion David Benavidez.

  17. Cruiserweight chaos in Vegaspublished at 03:09 BST 13 September

    Opetaia v Mikaelian

    Kal Sajad
BBC Sport boxing journalist at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas

A bit of boxing politics to get your head around before Jai Opetaia faces Noel Mikaelian.

Mikaelian is the WBC cruiserweight champion, but had been ordered to face WBA 'Super' and WBO champion David Benavidez. That fight did not get made and the WBA has now approved Opetaia-Mikaelian for its 'Regular' title tonight - despite Benavidez remaining its 'Super' champion.

The WBC situation is less clear. President Mauricio Sulaiman says the organisation will wait until Monday before issuing a definitive ruling on the division.

And then there is Don King. The 94-year-old promoter claims he still has an exclusive deal with Mikaelian and sent Zuffa Boxing and parent company TKO a cease-and-desist letter in an attempt to stop tonight's fight. But it’s going ahead.

I think I’ve confused myself. But basically, Opetaia-Mikaelian is on. Which version of the cruiserweight championship everyone owns afterwards is another matter entirely.

  18. Opetaia's legal battlepublished at 03:08 BST 13 September

    Opetaia v Mikaelian

Jai Opetaia has cemented himself as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers around, tearing through the cruiserweight division with 23 knockouts from his 30-0 record.

However, after signing with Zuffa Boxing and stepping foot into their ring for the first time, Opetaia had his IBF title stripped due to claims his clash with Brandon Glanton wasn’t sanctioned by the governing body.

As a result, Opetaia has filed legal proceedings against the IBF.
