As a very disappointed Blue Jays fan I expect the Dodgers to be champions again. Dark horse - Padres.

    David in Carlisle

As a Cubs fan, it's impossible to think of what else could have gone wrong in game one. We need to score early tonight or else the Padres bullpen will shut it down. Confidence rating 3/10.

    Ben in Surrey

Would love to see the Padres win the World Series if the Yankees don’t. It would be a great story, but I just can’t see past the Dodgers at the minute.

    Gemma in Lancashire

A reminder we have the Chicago White Sox @ Houston Astros coming up later tonight live on BBC iPlayer.

Elsewhere, the Cubs face the Padres and the Yankees take on the Red Sox in the early hours of the morning.

  2. Tension high in Atlantapublished at 20:41 BST 30 September

The pitchers have been on top since that fast start that saw both teams score in the first inning.

It means the tension is starting to get higher in Atlanta as we move towards the sixth inning.

This one could go either way at the moment.

I'm watching in hospital after having ACL surgery today. Excited to see the game and hopeful we can get a game three for Harper and Schwarber.

I'm a Philies, Sixers and Eagles fan from Devon. Very disappointed with our bullpen outside of our starting pitchers, relief pitching has been poor.

An immediate response from the Braves!

It is set up by a double steal from Ronald Acuna Jr., who gets all the way to third after an initial walk.

A single by Matt Olson to right field brings Acuna Jr. home and it's 1-1 in Atlanta.

Austin Riley celebrates his game-winning home run for the Atlanta Braves

Yesterday the Atlanta Braves took a big step towards the Division Series with a 5-3 win over the Phillies at Truist Park.

An eighth-inning home run by Austin Riley changed the game in favour of the Braves as they came from behind to take a 1-0 lead in the series over the Philadelphia Phillies

That means the Phillies simply have to win tonight to keep their season alive and force a deciding game on Thursday.

A Braves win will see them heading forward to the final eight of the post-season.
