Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle tells the Commons a vote on releasing documents related to Mandelson's appointment as US ambassador could be as late as 19:00 GMT.
He says he will extend the Commons debate prior to the vote to give MPs time to speak at length.
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch tabled a motion, known as a humble address, to release documents including due diligence carried out by the Cabinet Office.
