There's a heavy police presence here in central Krakow, with the main square now cordoned off. I've also seen police officers driving around the city, as well as fire trucks and ambulances.

This is the main square in Krakow. It's very popular with tourists - there's a lot less of them around than in the summer but when I passed through several hours ago, the square was full of people.

It is surrounded by cafes, bars and restaurants and it's a Saturday so normally you would have a lot of people in there.

Now, it's unusually empty as police are not letting anybody in. I can still see people coming out from behind the police cordon too, as officers are sending them away from the square.

"I don't know what to do now", she says, explaining that she doesn't know how best to get to her hotel.
