Image source, WPA Pool/Getty ImagesAway from the UN General Assembly, and ahead of his first face-to-face meeting with US President Donald Trump, UK PM Andy Burnham spoke at a business and investor roundtable where he met various players including Tim Cook, executive chair of Apple.
Burnham told business chiefs he wants a “single set of global principles and standards” to guard against rogue artificial intelligence (AI).
The issue of AI regulation is one of the dominant themes at the UN gathering in New York and is expected to be a key part of Burnham's speech to the Unga later on Tuesday.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump used his Unga address to firmly reject calls for international supervision of AI, calling them a "globalist scheme" to control the technology.
