Nigel Evans arrest: Fellow Tory MP Jonathan Evans' shock

Conservative MP Jonathan Evans has defended his parliamentary colleague and Deputy Speaker Nigel Evans, who was arrested at the weekend over allegations of rape and sexual assault.

Nigel Evans, the Swansea-born MP for Ribble Valley in Lancashire, says the allegations are completely false.

Jonathan Evans, the Cardiff North MP, told Carl Roberts on the Sunday Politics Wales that everybody at Westminster had expressed their shock at what has happened.

Wales UKIP MEP John Bufton also said Mr Evans should stay on in his Deputy Speaker role.
