Suitably inspired by the Number 10, this meeting of words and music takes us through the minds of Austen, Dickens and Tchaikovsky; Mervyn Peake, Chopin and George Sand; Zadie Smith, Pythagoras, Xian Xinghai, Seamus Heaney and more. Liszt and Dante explore the nether regions of the Inferno; Vivaldi and Boccaccio the tenth day of the Decameron, whilst Tolstoy and Tchaikovsky reflect on the significance of the tenth chime of a clock.
