How to make an animal bookmark

  • Draw the outline of your chosen animal onto a piece of strong card. Make sure your animal has some legs or paws, as these will allow your bookmark to attach to your page. Then, with the help of a grown-up, carefully cut out your animal bookmark.

  • If you're using our template, carefully cut out your chosen animal, with the help of a grown-up, then trace around your animal onto the strong card.

  •  Now it's time to decorate your bookmark! Be as creative as you like...you could use coloured paper to add patches, fur to add texture, make tails, ears, wings, anything that's going to make your bookmark look amazing!

  • Next, add a cute little face! You can use pens and pencils to draw it on, or use stickers and decorations, it's totally up to you!

  • To turn your animal into a bookmark, all you need to do is carefully cut along the inside of each paw... make sure you have a grown-up close-by to help.

  • Finally, grab the book you're reading and pop it into position. You could always make them as presents for your friends and family to use as well!

We would love to know the animal you chose for your bookmark and why you chose them.
