Questions to ask yourself to find your future job

Award-winning career coach, Mark Anderson, spoke to Bitesize Careers to suggest five questions to ask yourself to find your future job. They are:

Three wooden blocks with question marks on.
  • What difference do I want to make through my work?
  • What's important to me when it comes to work? (What are my values?)
  • What skills do I want to use?
  • What are the job prospects like, both now and in the future, for the industries I'm interested in?
  • Who can help me find more information and advice?

Jotting down your thoughts in response to these questions could help give you a good starting point to help shape your plans for work.

Remember, as Mark says: "One key thing to remember is that what you do next doesn't have to define you forever – it's just one step in a long career that you're going to have."
