    Plymouth 0-0 Reading

Plymouth are fouled halfway up the pitch but the referee makes a good call for the hosts to play the advantage.

It allows Joe Edwards to burst into the box, the Pilgrims trying to manoeuvre around the Reading defence until finally they are muscled off the ball.

    Good energy to this already.

    Onel Hernandez (2 mins)

What a start for Jon Brady's side! Onel Hernandez gets his third for the season.

It was a clever ball from Kyle Dempsey, who teed up Hernandez nicely to find the bottom corner from close range.

  3. goal

GOAL: Bradford 0-1 Huddersfieldpublished at 12:34 GMT 31 October

    Joe Low (4 mins)

BIG early breakthrough in the West Yorkshire derby and what a goal this is by Huddersfield defender Joe Low!

The Terriers keep a set piece alive after some head tennis in the Bradford area.

It eventually drops to Low who pulls off an unbelievable overhead kick to slam one in the top corner.

    Advantage Huddersfield.

    Bradford 0-0 Huddersfield

Two teams going at it this afternoon who have very different approaches but similar results so far.

Huddersfield have the second strongest attack in League One with 24 goals scored, compared to just 10 for Bradford.

But the Bantams have the best defence in the division by some distance with only five conceded. Oxford have the next best defensive record (10 conceded).

    Port Vale 0-0 Rochdale

Jon Brady makes five changes from the Port Vale side which lost 2-0 to York last week, with Connor Hall, Jordan Gabriel, George Hall, Max Watters, and Jaheim Headley all coming into the starting lineup.

It's one change for Rochdale as Zain Silcott-Durberry is brought in for Ed Francis, to sit behind the attacking trio of Cian Hayes, Dajuane Brown, and Glenn Middleton.

    Orient 0-0 Cambridge

Leyton Orient's team news is rather interesting.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green, who has been sidelined for more than a year with ruptured ACL has been thrown straight into the starting XI for the O's.

He's joined by Somto Boniface, who hasn't played since their opening league game in August with a knee issue, and Ollie O'Neill, who played his first 10 minutes of the season last week at Burton Albion.

Risky. Especially given Richie Wellens was not best pleased with the side's physicality following their loss to the Brewers.

    Bradford 0-0 Huddersfield

An eagerly awaited West Yorkshire derby featuring two really in-form teams.

Leaders Huddersfield have lost just one out of 12 in the league, while Bradford are unbeaten in 12 across all competitions, and have the best defensive record across the whole of the EFL.

Bradford keeper Jon McCracken has not conceded a goal in more than 700 minutes of football.

He’ll do well to keep a potent Huddersfield attack at bay today, who are averaging two goals per game in League One.

The legendary actor Patrick Stewart, who passed away this week, was a devoted Huddersfield Town fan. He’ll be remembered by players wearing black armbands today, as will John Vaughan, who was a goalkeeping coach for both of these sides.

Malachi Boateng and Mathias Ross both return to the squad from injury to take a place on the bench for Plymouth Argyle.

Boateng hasn't featured since August with a knee injury, while Ross has missed out on the past three games with an infected foot.

Joe Edwards returns to the starting line-up and dons the armband but Matthew Sorinola misses out with a knee issue. Goalkeeper Murphy Cooper is also absent for personal reasons.

It means 22-year-old James Storer will make his League One debut between the sticks.

Reading make a triple change from their win over Barnsley as Josh Knight makes his league debut for the side.

Jamie Reid also starts alongside Randell Williams making his first league start of the season to replace the injured Paddy Lane.

Haydon Roberts and Jacob Brown move to the bench.

  13. Will Plymouth finally be left quaking on Halloween?published at 12:26 GMT 31 October

    Plymouth v Reading (12:30 GMT)

Both Plymouth and Reading love the spookiest day of the year.

Fifth-placed Argyle have won all of their past three games on All Hallows' Eve, drawing the previous three for a six-match unbeaten streak on the last day of October.

However, the sixth-placed Royals have dolled out some punishment on their hosts in recent years. They've lost just one of their past seven meetings (W4 D2) and that was all the way back in 2009.

The visitors also have a great Halloween record, winning four of their past five and scoring exactly three goals in each of them.

With just one point between the two sides on the table, which one can put in a monstrous performance to pull ahead?

  14. Two changes for Bantams, one for Terrierspublished at 12:24 GMT 31 October

Michael Duff makes six changes from the Bradford City side that beat Peterborough 2-0 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night - but just two from their most recent League One game when they drew 0-0 at Oxford last Saturday.

Henry Cartwright and Jake Beesley come into the starting XI.

George Lapslie drops to the bench but Callum Connolly misses out on the big one with a one-match suspension after picking up five bookings.

How about this for a tasty West Yorkshire derby to get the juices flowing first up in League One this lunchtime?

In-form leaders Huddersfield Town make the short trip to a Bradford City side who aren't doing too badly themselves and are just three points behind in fourth.

Martin Drury is enjoying a fine start to life in his first full season as an EFL boss with his side looking like the real deal after a turbulent couple of seasons in the third tier for Huddersfield.

The Terriers have won three on the bounce and four of their past five (D1) and start the day two points clear of second-placed Stockport at the summit.

The Bantams might have changed managers with Michael Duff replacing Graham Alexander following his departure to Preston at the beginning of the month.

But Bradford are still performing solidly under Duff with a win and three draws since he took over - without conceding a goal - to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches (W4 D4).

  16. Two is the magic numberpublished at 12:17 GMT 31 October

Leyton Orient v Cambridge (12:30 GMT)

Leyton Orient have an uncanny ability to score exactly two goals in their games against Cambridge.

Across their past five meetings, the O's have found the net twice in each of them, winning their past four after a 4-2 loss in April 2021. They also currently have a goal difference of two in the League One table.

Some people believe that seeing a number repetitively means that you are on the right track but it's hard to see how that might equate for the hosts.

Boss Richie Wellens accused his own side of "cheating" fans after a 2-1 defeat to Burton last time out for a second successive loss, leaving them 16th and closer to relegation than promotion.

In numerology terms, the number two stands for harmony and teamwork. They will need it as they try to hold off a seventh-placed Cambridge side looking to break into the play-offs.

  17. As it stands in League Onepublished at 12:15 GMT 31 October

Huddersfield will get an early chance to solidify their place at the top for another weekend as they face a chasing Bradford City in the lunchtime kick-offs.

Cambridge and Luton Town sit outside the play-offs as it stands but either could fly all the way up to second, albeit with a lot of luck.

Only Wigan are guaranteed to remain in the bottom four this afternoon but a win for them against fellow strugglers Bromley could see them climb off the basement.

  18. One change for Grimsby; three for Yorkpublished at 12:13 GMT 31 October

David Artell opts to make a single change to the Grimsby side which hammered Gillingham 4-1 last week, with defender Cameron McJannet coming in for Justin Amaluzor.

York have made three changes as head coach Scott Lindsey seeks to make amends for the defeat to Barnet.

Striker Josh Stones, Arthur Read, and Jack Hunt come in for Hiram Boateng, Joe Felix, and Ollie Banks.

This lunchtime, Grimsby welcome York to Blundell Park for the first time in more than 14 years.

Back in March 2012, the two sides were promotion rivals in the National League. York won 3-2 that afternoon thanks to an injury-time goal from Jamal Fyfield and went on to win the play-offs a few months later.

Fast forward to 2026 and it is York leading the charge once again, with the club now sitting in fifth in League Two despite Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to Barnet.

Grimsby, in 12th, seem to have turned a corner after they secured their first away win of the season, against Gillingham last week. A first win against York since 1990 today could re-kickstart the season for David Artell's side.

  20. Vale aim to ditch the drop zone against Rochdalepublished at 12:09 GMT 31 October

Port Vale v Rochdale (12:30 GMT)

    Jon BradyImage source, Shutterstock

Port Vale could jump out of the drop zone with a win against Rochdale, who are winless in five matches.

Jon Brady's side have taken seven points from the last 12 available, and even though they fell to defeat against an in-form York last week, they bounced back a few days later to thrash Manchester City's U21 side 5-0 in the EFL Trophy.

The Dale dressing room will be feeling glum after they were on the receiving end of a 5-0 thrashing at home to Accrington last weekend to end a brutal October for Ian Watson's side.

However, the visitors will take heart from the fact they are coming up against the lowest scorers in the EFL (6). That would give anyone a confidence boost.
