Harlequins have signed prop Sam Thompson on a month-long loan from Championship club Widnes. The 22-year-old made five Super League appearances for St Helens last season before joining the Vikings. Thompson can provide forward cover and could make his debut against Celtic Crusaders at the Stoop on Saturday. "Having seen Sam play, I know he'll be able to do a job for us whilst several of our forwards are out with injuries," said Quins coach Brian McDermott.
