Citroen take Monte Carlo honours

Day one
Tommi Makinen was looking for a fifth consecutive Monte Carlo win but hit ice and crashed out on day one
Colin McRae experiences his first world rally in a Citroen having switched from the Ford team
Reigning world champion Marcus Gronholm led after the first day but Sebastien Loeb was beginning to threaten
Day two
Gronholm's chances of victory are dashed when he hits a tree leaving Richard Burns as Peugeot's best hope
Frenchman Sebastien Loeb takes a commanding lead, heading a Citroen 1-2-3 at the end of the second day
Day three
Citroen continue their domination on the final day, taking a clean-sweep of the podium
Having been disqualified from first place in 2002 Loeb celebrates his first Monte Carlo Rally victory
