Guernsey's Chris Simpson is through to the second round of the KIG Squash Open in Los Angeles. He beat Frenchman Yann Perrin in straight games in what he described as a straightforward match. He said: "It was nip and tuck in the first two until about 6/6 when I pulled away, but I always felt in front and like I had him doing more work." In the second round Simpson is set to face the United States number one Julian Illingworth. Simpson said: "We've never played on tour, but he's a good friend and we have trained together quite a bit. "He plays an attacking game so I look forward to the match, I think it will be a close one."
