Gosport sailor Alex Thomson is celebrating a second-placed finish in the Barcelona World Race.
The 33-year-old and his co-skipper, Andrew Cape from Australia, finished two days behind the winners Damian Foxall and Jean-Pierre Dick.
Thomson said: "It's been three months and the world is very big, but it's great to be home."
During the race, Thomson suffered a 48-hour penalty after stopping to repair a damaged rudder.
He said: "If we hadn't had a stop we might have been closer to winning, but it was good seeing the lights as we came in."
During the race Thomson and Cape broke the 24-hour distance record for a 60ft monohull yacht, covering 499.22 nautical miles.
