Preston midfielder Richard Chaplow has joined League One Southampton on loan.
The former Burnley and West Brom player has signed an initial one-month deal, having not made an appearance for Preston's first team this season.
The 25-year-old spent a three-month spell with Saints in 2006, and becomes new boss Nigel Adkins' first signing since he took over at St Mary's.
Adkins said: "He's an exceptional talent with Premier League experience, and will add strength to our squad."
