Reading are determined to gain revenge against Leicester for last season' 1-0 defeat at the Madjeski Stadium, says Noel Hunt.

The striker said the memory of that result was still fresh as the Royals prepare to host the Foxes on Saturday.

He told BBC Berkshire: "They are a good team, but they were also a team we should have beaten last year.

"We're still sore from last year when we dominated the game and failed to win so it's time we put that to bed."

Reading are also looking to bounce back from this week's Carling Cup penalty shoot-out defeat by Northampton.

The 27-year-old said: "Everyone's disappointed but we need to crack on.

"Right now, Leicester is the biggest game of the season and we want to get our first three points there."

Hunt, who has recovered from a long-term knee injury, says he is excited to be back playing football but match fitness will take time.

"Last year was frustrating so I'm not going to rush into things, I'm going to take each game as it comes," he said.

"That way, hopefully in four or five games you will see the old Noel Hunt."
