Nottingham Forest defender James Perch has made an earlier-than-expected return to training after suffering a stress fracture of his shin.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury at the end of last season and recent scans showed the problem had not improved.
Despite this a specialist told him he should attempt to train again.
He has joined in with training sessions for nearly two weeks without any reaction although he is still several weeks from full fitness.
