Carlisle United have signed former French under-21 striker Vincent Pericard until January 2010.
The 26-year-old joins the Cumbrians after he was released by Stoke City in the summer and goes into the squad for Saturday's trip to Yeovil Town.
Pericard came through the Juventus academy before joining Portsmouth in 2002 and helped them to promotion to the Premier League in his first season.
He then moved to Stoke and spent time on loan at Millwall and Southampton.
