Charlie Oatway, Richard Carpenter, Gary Hart and Guy Butters have all agreed new one-year deals at Brighton.
Kerry Mayo has also been offered a one-year contract and will make a decision once he returns from holiday.
Albion, however, have released Jason Dodd, Alexis Nicolas, Mark McCammon, Chris McPhee and Federico Turienzo.
Boss Mark McGhee told the club's website: "We feel that those who have been retained give us a balance between experience and youth."
