Accrington Stanley have signed central midfielder Luke Joyce following his release by Carlisle United.
The 22-year-old, who started his career at Wigan before moving to Carlisle in 2006, departed Brunton Park in May as part of a mass clear-out.
He spent the majority of last season out on loan at Barrow and Northwich.
It is believed a number of clubs had been chasing his signature but the move to the Fraser Eagle Stadium was confirmed on Thursday.
