Developments at Park Hall should boost grass-roots sport
|
The New Saints have been given a £445,038 Football Foundation grant for a new multi-sport leisure facility at their old Park Hall Stadium.
The redevelopment will include replacing the grass pitch with a floodlit, full-size astroturf surface.
New changing facilities, training rooms, social facilities, a children's play area and 10-lane, 10-pin bowling alley will also be included.
Welsh Premier holders TNS play at the Treflan ground in Llansantffraid.
The club, which changed its name from Total Network Solutions after the end of a sponsorship deal, is a merger of Oswestry Town and Llansantffraid.
Paul Thorogood, chief executive of the Football Foundation, said: "This award to The New Saints Football Club will be a boost to the area and the Shropshire FA deserves credit for its work on this project."
Work at Park Hall is due to be completed in May 2007.
