Guernsey dominate in Jeremie Cup

Guernsey dominate the last eight in the 2010/11 Jeremie Cup, the Channel Islands Champions League, with all but one team coming from the island.

The knock-out competition features the top sides from both the Guernsey and Jersey top divisions for 2009/10.

St Peter are the only Jersey representative after they beat fellow islanders Grouville 2-1 on Saturday.

However, the same day saw three wins for Guernsey sides playing opposition from Jersey.

St Martin's beat Portuguese Club 5-1, Northerners defeated Trinity 4-0 and Rangers pulled off a surprising 2-1 win against defending champions St Paul's.

Belgrave Wanderers' 2-0 win over fellow Guernsey side Vale Recreation a week earlier secured their place, while Guernsey Athletics, Rovers and Sylvans were all given byes into the quarter-finals.
