Hampshire and England batsman Michael Lumb has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his foot. He was injured on Wednesday in the County Championship game at Taunton. The left-hander was struck while fielding at short leg, ironically by a shot from his England Twenty20 opening partner, Somerset's Craig Kieswetter. Lumb, 30, will now miss Saturday's domestic Twenty20 finals day as well as England's two Twenty20 internationals against Pakistan next month. The South African-born batsman has made seven T20 appearances for England, helping them win the World Twenty20 in the West Indies earlier this year. However, Hampshire are hopeful that all-rounder Sean Ervine, who also left the field at Taunton, and captain Dominic Cork will be fit for Saturday's finals day at Hampshire's Rose Bowl home. It means they could be unchanged from the side that beat Warwickshire in the quarter-final - a match Lumb was not selected for.
