Singleton nearing end of rehab but leaves Gloucester

Hooker Jack Singleton is nearing the end stage of his rehabilitation almost a year after a cardiac event during a training session; however, he will not be at Gloucester during 2026-27.
The 30-year-old has not played since the incident in September 2025 and has been receiving support from the Cherry and Whites' medical team and specialists.
"Jack has followed a detailed and extensive process to reach a position where he can consider a return to full training, subject to the successful completion of his rehabilitation programme," a Gloucester statement said.
"While Jack will not be contracted to Gloucester Rugby for the 2026-27 season, the club is proud to have supported him throughout his recovery and wishes him every success for the future as he considers the next steps in his playing career."
Singleton made 75 appearances for Gloucester after joining the club from Saracens in 2020 and had a short-term spell with Toulon in 2023 as he recovered from a serious leg injury that left him on the sidelines for almost 12 months.
He has also won seven caps for England, the last of which came in November 2022.
"Everyone at the club has been pleased to see Jack's progress in his health and wellbeing following what was undoubtedly a frightening experience for him and his family," said head coach George Skivington.
"I'm incredibly proud of our medical department for the care and support they have provided throughout Jack's journey, from recognising the symptoms early to coordinating specialist treatment and guiding his rehabilitation."
