Hull FC sign World Cup winner Cherry-Evans for 2027

Hull FC have signed two-time World Cup winning half-back Daly Cherry-Evans from NRL side Sydney Roosters on a one-year deal for the 2027 Super League season.

The 37-year-old has enjoyed a glittering career down under, winning the NRL in his debut season for Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in 2011.

He went on to be one of the club's most influential captains - becoming their all-time highest appearance maker, playing 352 times, scoring 98 tries and kicking over 200 goals.

Cherry-Evans signed for the Roosters last November with the club currently top of the NRL. Earlier on Thursday, he scored twice in the Roosters' 12-6 victory over Penrith Panthers.

Cherry-Evans is also a six-time State of Origin series winner with Queensland and has represented Australia on 21 occasions, scoring five tries for his country.

Winning the World Cup in 2013 and 2021 on English shores with the Kangaroos, Cherry-Evans also boasts the record of having the most drop-goals and most tries as a half in NRL history.
