Toafofoa Sipley will miss the rest of the Super League season after suffering a leg fracture.

The 31-year-old prop picked up the injury in last Tuesday's 38-24 win over reigning Super League champions Hull KR.

Head coach Sam Burgess delivered the injury update speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside in the aftermath of Sunday's 34-24 win over Huddersfield Giants.

"Unfortunately Toff has fractured his leg, so he is going to miss the rest of the season, which is a big loss," said Burgess.

Sipley has made 17 appearances for the Wire so far this Super League campaign, scoring four tries as the club sits two points off the top of the table in third with three games of the regular season left.
