  2. Postpublished at 5 mins

Almost an immediate response from Celtic.

Callum McGregor's deflected effort forces Raphael Sallinger into a sharp save.

What a finish from Owen Elding, across the goalkeeper beautifully. Johnstone had no chance.

But it's all down to the brightness, the cuteness of the free-kick.

Dane Murray just got caught watching the ball. That's why you need someone standing in front of the ball.

    A perfect start for Hibs.

Schoolboy stuff from Celtic, it really is.

Excellent thinking from Hibs and boy can Elding finish.

Hibs strike first with a brilliant goal!

Joe Newell takes a free-kick quickly, Celtic are fast asleep and Owen Elding smashes a great finish into the far corner.

The sparsely populated home crowd have something to celebrate.

  6. Postpublished at 2 mins

A bright start for the hosts.

Thibault Klidje gets the ball down and goes wide to Felix Passlack, whose cross is put over his own cross bar by Liam Scales.

  7. Don't be fooled by blue skiespublished at 12:01 GMT

    Hibernian 0-0 Celtic

    Brian McLauchlin
BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

The blue skies overhead give a false impression of conditions here at Easter Road. It’s chilly and a strong swirling wind will make this a real test for both sets of players.

Hibernian are seeking their first home league win in six months and the errors and slackness in recent weeks have to be eradicated if they are to improve results in front of their own fans.

Martin O’Neill obviously feels that Kasper Hogh can make an impact today with his recall. His physicality could be crucial today against a team that are really struggling to keep their own goal intact.

  10. 'Confidence means nothing until it is practical' - Reedijkpublished at 11:57 GMT

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:00)

Hibernian head coach Marink Reedijk tells BBC Scotland: "If it was like yesterday, yes [conditions] can affect the match. But it's the same for both teams, it cannot be an excuse.

"Last week we saw a few good things. We need to continue with this. Jamie can hold the ball, he can be the creative guy up front. This is what he adds to our team.

"It's important to just do everything in our power. We're against a good opponent, so we must do well the things we can do well.

"Confidence for me is a buzzword. It doesn't tell me anything. You throw a brick into a window, you say 'it's broken'. I can see it's broken - what can we do to fix it? I'm not keen on the word confidence. It means nothing until it is practical."

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:00)

Both of these teams come into the game under something of a cloud.

Hibs are without a win in six league matches and prop up the table, sitting a point behind Kilmarnock.

Head coach Marink Reedijk has lost both of his matches in charge since succeeding David Gray and could desperately do with a result today.

Celtic's European woes continued in midweek as Celta Vigo came from a goal behind to win 2-1 at Parkhead.

Their domestic form has been far healthier, with eight wins from their nine league games. A win today would take Martin O'Neill's side four points clear of Rangers in second.

  12. O'Neill expects 'tough afternoon'published at 11:52 GMT

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:00)

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill tells Sky Sports: "You have to take the conditions into consideration.

"If it stays windy throughout the game there's nothing you can do about it, it's the same for both teams.

"We'll just try and do exactly the same as we did last week. We had a tough old game against Hearts, scored early on. Today is a different ball game completely even though Hibs have been struggling. They will raise their game for us, it'll be a tough afternoon."

On Kasper Hogh, who returns to the starting line-up: "It's just getting used to proceedings here as much as anything else. He'll still score goals for us.

"I just want Sam Johnstone to get used to conditions up here. When we've got a big run of games, if we're rotating some of the players outfield we're doing the same in goals."

On having Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers on the bench: "That's really good news for us. It's nice to see both of them back, both on the bench, but it's great to see them."

  13. Captaincy 'the least of Hibs' concerns'published at 11:50 GMT

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:00)

    Kris Boyd
Former Rangers striker on Sky Sports

It will hurt Martin Boyle [to lose the captaincy], he loves Hibs. He could have left in the summer and decided to stay.

But Passlack has shown he's a decent enough player going forward. He needs to work on his defensive responsibilities.

But this is the least of the club's problems right now. I'd start at the top. The decline on the pitch has been clear to see.

  15. Hogh's the man?published at 11:45 GMT

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:00)

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

O'Neill has to get Hogh in the team. Celtic have paid big money for him, he's probably on big wages.

He's lacking in confidence and they've got to find a way to build that up, and get him back to what he showed in those first couple of games.

He's not been right since his injury. They've just got to get the ball into the box for him, that's key for how he plays.

  16. Hogh returns in only Celtic changepublished at 11:42 GMT

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:00)

Celtic make one change from the side that started Thursday's Europa League defeat by Celta Vigo.

Record signing Kasper Hogh comes in for Haissem Hassan, who is on the bench.

Sam Johnstone retains his place in goal while defenders Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers could return to first-team action as substitutes.

  17. Boyle illness forces second change to Hibs XIpublished at 11:39 GMT

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:00)

Hibernian make two changes to the starting XI - but it was supposed to only be one.

Winger Martin Boyle was originally in team but has pulled out with illness. As such, Joe Newell is promoted from the bench.

Jamie McGrath also comes in, with Azeem Abdulai dropping to the bench, which also now features Zach Bruce.
