Oxford United head coach Aaron Ramsey has said that he and his players "can't wait to get going again" after three weeks without any League One matches.
After a fortnight of no football because of the international break, the U's travelled down to Exeter City on Tuesday in the EFL Trophy and finally return to league action this weekend to face Notts County away from home (12:30 BST).
Oxford sit 10th in the table after six matches having won three times and lost once this campaign.
"We're just excited to play a game of football again," Ramsey told BBC Radio Oxford.
"We just can't wait to get going again and It's going to be a tough game against good opposition with an early kick off away from home. But we'll be ready to get going on Saturday.
"Everyone in the squad is ready to help this team achieve what we want to this season."
Ramsey was named Oxford boss before the start of the campaign when he took over from Matt Bloomfield who had been sacked over the summer.
In the games prior to the international break, the U's beat Leicester City and Burton Albion handsomely before a 1-1 draw with Cambridge.
Ramsey said that the group have been productive on the training pitch during the break to prepare them for an intense upcoming schedule of games as they will now play six times in the league before the end of October.
"The break's given us some time to work on a few things," he added.
"We've had some real quality time on the training pitch with the players, there's been some real good work put in over the last few weeks.
"There was also some really good stuff that came out of the Exeter game, especially in the second half, that we can take into this next block of games."
