Rangers reject second Raskin bid from Besiktas after Aasgaard exit

Rangers have rejected another bid from Besiktas for Belgium international Nico Raskin after fellow midfielder Thelo Aasgaard joined Anderlecht in a £1m loan move to Anderlecht.

The Scottish Premiership club had rejected an initial loan bid from Turkish club for the 25-year-old and have not decided a cash offer for a permanent transfer also does not meet their valuation.

Aasgaard has scored one goal in five appearances this season but will spent the rest of this season in Belgium, with Anderlecht having the option to sign the Norway international for £5m next summer.

Signed from Luton in 2025, the 24-year-old's contract runs until 2029.

Raskin has been consistently linked with a move away from Glasgow after impressing during the World Cup.

And the 25-year-old made his return to the Ibrox midfield in the win at Falkirk on Wednesday, taking the captain's armband in the closing stages.

Raskin had missed Rangers' past two matches amid transfer speculation, but manager Derek McInnes insisted he has been "good as gold" during that period.

"I'm just glad I'm able to choose him tonight," he said. "We can do with his experience in there. I thought he got better in the second half. Obviously delighted if we manage to hold on to him and it looks like we will."

With the window closing on Thursday at 17:00 BST, McInnes says he will be relived when it is shut and he can concentrate on the players in the building.

"It seems to have been the longest window I can remember - so much going on," he said. "For us now, it will do everybody good if we can get the window shut and work with what we've got. Players always settle a wee bit more."
