Leicester City have brought in Harry Howell on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion after the attacking midfielder signed a new three-year deal with the Premier League club.

The 18-year-old is the second Seagulls player to join the Foxes on loan this summer after Tommy Watson's arrival.

England Under-19 international Howell has made four Premier League appearances for Brighton across the past two seasons, and his switch to Leicester is his first move away from the American Express Stadium.

Brighton's sporting director Mike Cave said Howell joining the Foxes in League One would be an "opportunity to build" after the teenager was exposed to the Seagulls' first team environment last term.

"We are very excited by Harry's potential and look forward to seeing him continue to progress over the coming year," Cave told the club website., external
