Fulham have four central defenders: Calvin Bassey, who was recently lauded by Alvaro Arbeloa, Joachim Andersen and Jorge Cuenca. The trio are joined by Luc de Fougerolles, who spent last season on loan in Belgium.
It is clear they are at least testing the market for a centre-back, having held talks over a move for Rennes defender Abdelhamid Ait-Boudlal.
It speaks towards Fulham are looking at signing one but within their limits and with options to use in their squad if they fail to do so.
