Sussex have signed all-rounder Joey Evison from Kent.

Evison, 24, has joined on loan for the remainder of the County Championship campaign and the move will be made permanent on 1 October.

He will be available for Sussex's final five matches, starting on Thursday against Somerset at Hove.

Evison was at Leicestershire on a short term deal earlier in the season - his second spell on loan with the Foxes - and contributed 55 runs in a victory over Yorkshire.

In total, he has featured in 57 first-class matches in his career, scoring more than 2,500 runs and claiming 92 wickets.

Kent director of cricket, Simon Cook, said: "With the majority of our first-team squad fit and firing heading into the run-in of the Rothesay County Championship, we have agreed with Sussex that Joey can join them early on loan to provide first-team cricket opportunities. We wish him well at Hove."
