Glamorgan wicketkeeper/batter Chris Cooke is to retire at the end of the 2026 season after 16 years with the county.
Cooke, 40, has been a regular for in all formats for much of his time with the county, taking over as wicketkeeper from Mark Wallace in 2017.
He was club captain between 2019 and 2021, narrowly missing out on Championship promotion in 2019.

Born in Johannesburg, Cooke played briefly for Western Province in South Africa before coming to the UK and featuring in club cricket in Hampshire and the Midlands.
He made his Glamorgan debut in 2011, initially as a T20 specialist and boundary fielder, hitting sixes off his second, third and fourth balls in county cricket.
Cooke broke into the Championship team in 2013 and was part of the side which reached the final of the YB40 competition, as well as the 2025 Championship promotion team.
He has a highest score of 205 not out, against Surrey at the Oval in 2021, and hit Glamorgan's fastest T20 century off just 38 balls away against Middlesex in 2023.
Other major landmarks include sharing the county's highest ever partnership of 461 with Sam Northeast away against Leicestershire in 2022, and jointly holding the record for nine dismissals in a first-class match.
in the 2026 season he scored a Championship century to help set up a win over Surrey and blasted 44 off 15 balls in a decisive T20 contribution against Lancashire at Blackpool.
"It's with a mixture of pride and sadness that I announce my retirement," Cooke told the club's website.
"I feel incredibly fortunate to have fulfilled a childhood dream of playing professional cricket and to have called Wales my home for the past 17 years. It has been a privilege to represent the 'Daff'.
"I am excited about the prospect of a last push in Division One. It's reassuring to leave knowing how strong the club is currently, and how promising the next generation of players are. Diolch am bopeth (Welsh for thanks for everything)."
Glamorgan's 'best keeper/batter'
Director of cricket Mark Wallace, his predecessor in the team, described Cooke as "the best keeper/batter" in Glamorgan's history.
"He has represented everything you want to see as a sportsperson and will retire as one of the most respected players in the domestic game. Off the field Chris has been a true role model and professional, with time for everyone."
Cooke is married to former Wales netball international Nichola.
Glamorgan have plenty of choice for their next wicketkeeper, with 22-year-old Alex Horton having taken the role for the One Day Cup and finishing as top run-scorer.
Will Smale has also done the job at first-team level, while Henry Hurle and Harry Wallace - the 17 year old son of Mark - are other options in the county's ranks.
Glamorgan lie fourth in the Championship table going into the final block of six matches, and look set to achieve their best placing since the competition was divided into two divisions in 2000.
