Declared Innocent after 48 years in Jail

After serving 48 years, five months and thirteen days in jail, Glynn Simmons was told in December he was a free man. A judge in Oklahoma ruled that he was innocent of the murder for which he was sentenced and convicted to death in 1975. The original evidence from a line-up of suspects was flawed. No American who's been exonerated has been a prisoner for that long. Freedom has brought plenty of challenges: when he left prison, he was destitute and diagnosed with stage four cancer.
