Adventures in Poetry – The Owl and the Pussycat

Available for over a year

The programme sets sail with Edward Lear's nonsense classic, The Owl and the Pussycat. Anthologists and Lear's biograph Vivien Noakes reflect on how it appeals to our appetite for language, rhythmic bounce and the way Lear relishes words. And, by the way, the programme contains definitions of a "runcible spoon".
