This week, Soweto welcomes celebrated American jazz singer Gretchen Parlato as his Flowers guest. Known for her melodic and luminous voice, Parlato is a notable bandleader and has performed with artists including Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Esperanza Spalding, and Robert Glasper. From Monday to Thursday, Gretchen is giving Flowers to some of the artists that continue to inspire her. To begin, she gives her first bouquet to a long-time collaborator and multi-instrumentalist that she deeply appreciates.
