  Zoe Neirizi 10 November 2004
Her short film,The Corridor, tells the story of why she had to flee Iran

In March 1993 Zoe Neirizi was forced to leave Iran as an asylum seeker and settle in Britain.

A political activist opposing the Shah and then the Ayatollah Khomeini, she was made to pay a heavy price, not only in terms of her immediate suffering, her torture and imprisonment at the hands of the regime, but the deeper pain of also leaving her ten year old daughter, born in prison, taken away by the authorities, to be brought up by her husband’s family.

Jenni talks to Zoe about her short film that tells her story,The Corridor.

The Corridor, written, produced and directed by Zoe Neirizi will be shown at the National Film Theatre 2 on Sunday 14 November at 1pm. The short film is in English.
