Grande Dame of rock on her new album and acting career
At 17 she was a pop star; at 18 she was a mother; at 19 she was Mick Jagger’s girlfriend. Sixties excess eventually took its toll and years of heroin addiction followed. But Marianne Faithfull has bounced back time and time again.
Now at 58, she is continuing to release albums, and her latest, Before the Poison, features a younger generation of singers and songwriters.
She talks with Martha about the music, the sensations and her recent theatre role playing the devil.
Before the Poison is on the Naive label
