  Work/Life Balance 11 October 2004
What can we learn from our European neighbours?

One of the issues discussed at all the recent party political conferences is work-life balance. Some of the questions that cropped up were how can we increase productivity whilst reducing working hours? Do we have the right balance between time spent at work and at home? Can we work smarter not harder?

Jenni asks Sarah Jackson, Chief Executive of Working Families, and Andrea Broughton, Editor of European Industrial Relations Review, what we could learn from our European neighbours to help us find answers to these and other questions.
