  The Women's Pentathlon 19 August 2004
Meet the British contenders

Four years ago in Sydney Dr Stephanie Cook crowned Britain's Olympic success, winning our final gold medal in the pentathlon - bringing our tally to 11.

This time in Athens the current world number one Georgina Harland will be hoping to retain the title for Britain - also in the hunt is Kate Allenby who won bronze four years ago.

One of the oldest of sports, the pentathlon was afforded a place of great honour in the ancient Greek Games - minus the shooting of course. Competitors have to ride, shoot, fence, swim and run their way to gold. Eleanor Oldroyd meets up with Georgina and Kate.
