  Sudan camps 20 August 2004
Why the women of Darfur are desperately in need of the international community's aid

A UN resolution gives the government in Sudan another ten days to bring an end to the violence in the west of the country.

Over a million people have fled from the Darfur region of Sudan where militias called the Janjaweed have used violence to force people to abandon their homes and land.

Woman's Hour hears from Zam Zam Sayed Omar, a woman living in the Um Gozen Camp. And Ritula Shah talks to CAFOD aid worker Martha Clarke, who is currently working in Sudan.
