Summer activities for children 20 August 2004
Sleeping over with the Mummy at the British Museum

There are so many different activities, days out and events for children during the summer holidays, but few can beat a sleepover with a difference. What about bedding down under the gaze of an ancient sphinx, or cuddling up to an Egyptian mummy?

Four times a year the British Museum opens its door for more than 200 children and their parents to stay the night in its galleries.

Sara Parker, sleeping bag in hand, went along to find out more.

If you fancy bedding down with the Mummies, the next sleep-over is on 11 September
