How the death of a close friend inspired her new album, Affirmation

Wolverhampton soul diva, Beverley Knight hit the big time with her last album, the Brit and Mercury nominated Who I Am.  And she's currently enjoying chart success with the single Come As You Are  from her long-awaited new album, Affirmation. It takes its inspiration from two turbulent years in Beverley's life when she nursed her best friend Tyrone, whom she called her 'husband without the sex', through an Aids-related illness. He died last year.

Beverley talks to Jenni about her life and her new album.

Affirmation is available now on the Parlophone label
