How she used her dreams in her one women show

Where do characters from a dream go when the dream is cut short? That's the question posed by the Quebecois writer/performer Marie Brassard in Jimmy , a solo work that begins in the dreamlife of an American general.

Martha talks to Marie about her inspiration for Jimmy and what she learnt about herself when she recorded her own dreams over a period of two years. .

Jimmy is on at the Barbican Centre, London, until 3 July
