Should you teach your children good manners?
How many of us have sat in a restaurant or perhaps an airport lounge, despairing at the behaviour of other people's children?
Journalist and mother of three Penny Palmano was so appalled by children's lack of manners and good behaviour that she decided to write a book on the subject. Entitled, Yes Please, Thanks, it offers practical advice to parents about teaching their offspring basic good manners and how to behave in public.
Martha speaks to Penny Palmano and to psychologist Dr Linda Blair who explains how modern life has affected the bringing up our children and why we need to trust our instincts on parenting.
Penny Palmano, Yes Please Thanks: The Essential Guide to Teaching Your Child Manners, Respect and the Social Skills Necessary to Get Ahead in Life, published by Panic Publications
