Why the Alexandre Pato takeover failed

Sports Alpha Capital co-founder Joao Xavier has detailed why a Colchester United takeover fell through.

The U's were the subject of a proposed bid from the organisation, which includes former AC Milan and Brazil forward Alexandre Pato, but negotiations ended in February 2026.

Sports Alpha Capital has now completed a takeover of Northampton Town.
