Wickford derailment: disruption to ‘last a week’

More than 60 passengers escaped injury when the Greater Anglia train came off the line.

Disruption is expected to last 'at least a week' following a derailment near Wickford on Friday afternoon. The Greater Anglia passenger service was heading to London Liverpool Street from Southend when some of the wheels on its rear carriages left the rails in an upright position.
